Tattoo Aftercare

Aftercare instructions will be explained to you once you’re done.

  • The tattoo will be covered with a second skin film.

  • Remove the film after 24 hours maximum, under room-temperature water (not hot!)

  • Wash your hands before touching your tattoo. Gently wash your tattoo and pat dry with a clean towel.

  • Gently apply a VERY THIN layer of aftercare lotion for a week to 10 days, for 3 times/day (i.e. Bepanthen plus or Aquaphor). Suffocating your tattoo will prolong healing time, so avoid over-saturation of the lotion.

  • Do not rub your tattoo

  • You may see ink or blood when washing your tattoo for the first couple days; this is normal and nothing to be worried about.

  • Your tattoo will peel or start scabbing: this is normal. Do not pick at, scratch, or irritate the tattoo. Apply non-scented lotion as needed for the first 2–4 weeks.

  • Stay away from sun exposure or tanning for a week.

  • No swimming, no sports for a week. To avoid any infection due to sweat or sea/pool water.

  • After healing (around 2 weeks) it is advised to use a sunblock on the tattoo to help retain the color as is.

  • Keep the skin hydrated and moisturized to keep your tattoo fresh and vibrant.
